Something to Wear: Love the chunky, comfy look of these sweaters.

Something to Eat: I found a recipe on The Cooking Channel website for Peach and Blue Cheese Salad. It’s deliciously refreshing. A little sweet, a little tangy. Perfect for an appetizer salad or for lunch.

Something to Ponder: I’ve starting reading Desiring God by John Piper. It’s excellent. In the introduction of the book, John Piper quotes C.S. Lewis, sharing an excerpt from Lewis’ writing that was highly influential in his life. I understand why.

“If there lurks in most modern minds the notion that to desire our own good and earnestly to hope for the enjoyment of it is a bad thing, I submit that this notion has crept in from Kant and the Stoics and is no part of the Christian faith. Indeed, if we consider the unblushing promises of reward and the staggering nature of the rewards promised in the Gospels, it would seem that Our Lord finds our desires not too strong, but too weak. We are half-hearted creatures, fooling about with drink and sex and ambition when infinite joy is offered us, like an ignorant child who wants to go on making mud pies in a slum because he cannot imagine what is meant by the offer of a holiday at the sea. We are far too easily pleased.”

Something to Treasure: Those moments of watching my Little discover the world around her. I grow more in awe of our Creator God as I re-discover the world with her. We are learning together and oh, how I love seeing the excitement and joy fill her eyes each time a new discovery is made! A look I will always cherish.
