happy friday // 04

01 // If you like bacon and if you like salt you need to try this recipe — Smashed Potatoes with Bacon Salt.

02 // My sweet parents sent me this book for Mother’s Day and I can’t wait to dive into it. I love the title — Christ in the Chaos: How the Gospel changes Motherhood. Just that title is so beautifully encouraging and hopeful! In every nook and cranny of motherhood, I can imitate Jesus, by His grace through the gospel.

03 // “Meekness loves to learn. And it counts the blows of a friend as precious. And when it must say a critical word to a person caught in sin or error, it speaks from the deep conviction of its own fallibility and its own susceptibility to sin and its utter dependence on the grace of God.” — John Piper. Oh, I pray, by God’s grace, that my life grow to be characterized by such meekness.

04 // My thoughtful mother-in-love bought me this skirt from Target a few weeks ago. It’s quickly become a favorite. I mean, it’s stripes. So there’s that. And it’s wonderfully versatile and comfy. Perfect to dress up for date night, a wedding, or work and perfect to wear with a t-shirt and sandals while running errands. Yay, Target. You’re the best.

05 // Beautiful post from Jami Nato who blogs at from the nato’s about relationships. Our gentle and loving Savior is our perfect example in how we are to view every relationship in our lives.

The weekend is here, friends! It’s a happy weekend here. Today, we are celebrating a close friend’s graduation from Seminary which is so exciting! AK gets to show J all that’s she’s learned in swim lessons tomorrow morning which she absolutely cannot wait for. I’m looking forward to a sushi and shopping date with a lovely friend of mine. And there will be relaxing, reading, and coffee, which is a favorite combination in the Coobs household and one that always makes a great weekend even better. I really do cherish weekends. After J being a wedding photographer for the first several years of our marriage and, thus, being gone on a lot of saturdays, I will always, always be grateful that we have the weekends fully together now. It really is a gift.

I hope you all have lovely weekends ahead as well! Enjoy it, dear ones.
